Pakistan Empowerment & Development Organization (PEDO) was proudly awarded a recognition certificate during the International Human Rights Day celebrations, organized in collaboration with UNDP, The Directorate of Human Rights, and IMSciences University, Peshawar.

PEDO organized an insightful seminar on “Disaster Management and Climate Change” at Khyber Medical College (KMC), Peshawar, on 23rd October 2025. The session aimed to build awareness and strengthen the role of youth particularly students of medicine as key actors in promoting environmental sustainability and climate resilience.
The seminar provided an interactive platform to discuss the increasing vulnerability of communities to floods, heatwaves, and environmental degradation across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Experts from academia, public institutions, and the development sector emphasized the importance of integrating disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation strategies into healthcare systems and community outreach initiatives.
Participants discussed sustainable mitigation measures, early preparedness mechanisms, and the role of medical professionals in advancing climate-smart healthcare and public awareness.
This initiative reaffirms PEDO’s commitment to fostering climate resilience, sustainable development, and youth engagement, empowering the next generation particularly medical students to serve as advocates and implementers of climate action within their communities.
MoU signing ceremony with Mera Ghar (Noor Educated Trust) NET to Implement Social Action Projects for GBV Survivors Following the signing of the Social Action Project Grant Agreement with Sabawoon under the GIZ-funded Mentorship Program, the Pakistan Empowerment and Development Organization (PEDO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mera Ghar NET.
This partnership marks a collaborative effort to implement the WISH – Women’s Integrated Support for Health and Well-being project, focusing on the empowerment, health, and dignity of Afghan refugee and host community women survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
Through this initiative, PEDO and Mera Ghar NET aim to deliver community-based social action projects that strengthen resilience, improve access to psychosocial and health support services, and promote inclusive and sustainable development across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Agreement signing ceremony with Sabawoon Under GIZ-Funded Program
On 12th August 2025, the Pakistan Empowerment and Development Organization (PEDO) signed a Social Action Project Grant Agreement with Sabawoon, under the GIZ-funded Mentoring Pathways for Local CSOs Program. The signing ceremony took place at Jirga Hall, Urban Cohesion Hub, Peshawar.
Through this collaboration, PEDO will implement community-based social action projects focused on supporting Gender-Based Violence (GBV) survivors from both Afghan refugee and local host communities. The initiative aims to enhance access to protection, empowerment opportunities, and psychosocial support, contributing to social cohesion and inclusive development across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Pakistan Empowerment and Development Organization (PEDO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sabawoon under the GIZ-funded Mentorship Program. The MoU, signed on 20th March 2025, marks PEDO’s inclusion in an initiative aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity and operational effectiveness of local civil society organizations. Through this collaboration, PEDO will enhance its ability to design and implement impactful community-driven initiatives, particularly for Afghan refugees and host communities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This partnership reflects PEDO’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development, empowerment, GBV survivors and inclusive growth, enabling the organization to play a stronger role in promoting resilience, social cohesion, and community well-being within the region.
A Pivotal meeting was held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Peshawar, chaired by the DC, with the main objective of assessing the progress and initiatives of the Pakistan Empowerment and Development Organization (PEDO). The participants discussed in detail the ongoing projects and upcoming activities focused on community development.
The DC expressed his strong support for PEDO’s initiatives and reaffirmed his commitment to assisting their efforts. He praised PEDO for its strategic approach to building community capacity and recognized its effective collaboration and advocacy with various stakeholders.
The DC emphasized the need for continued cooperation to achieve shared goals and promote sustainable development within the community.
On September 6, 2024, RASTI Facilitates the Learning Organization hosted an advocacy and lobbying meeting addressing the urgent issue of child labour in Pakistan. The event brought together various organizations, including Pakistan Empowerment and Development Organizations (PEDO), to exchange views and develop strategies aimed at eradicating child labour and ensuring the protection and empowerment of child labourers.
Participants from the attending organizations shared valuable insights, experiences, and approaches on how to effectively address child labour in Pakistan. The discussion emphasized the importance of collaboration in not only eliminating child labour but also in advancing the rights and empowerment of vulnerable children. Together, the organizations reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the dignity, rights, and future opportunities of child labourers in Pakistan through sustainable and actionable solutions.
Pakistan Empowerment and Development Organization (PEDO) shared its thoughts and strategies for addressing the pressing issue of child labour during the meeting. PEDO stressed the need for a strategic approach that tackles the root causes of child labour while prioritizing the education and empowerment of children. In collaboration with the Government’s Child Labour Department, PEDO advocated for policies that ensure children have access to education and opportunities for personal development, rather than being subjected to labour.
On March 8, 2024, Pakistan Empowerment and Development Organization (PEDO) organized and celebrated the International Women's Day in collaboration with the Directorate of Law and Human Rights and the Institute of Management Sciences. The event was graced by Ms. Rakhshanda Naz, KPK Ombudsperson as chief guest who eloquently addressed the audience on women's rights and the importance of protecting women against harassment in workplaces. Adding to the significance of the day, Ms. Aneela, AIG Peshawar, shared her inspiring success story, enhancing the celebration with a touch of empowerment and achievement.
A registration meeting was held at Pedo's head office in Peshawar, KPK, with the Social Welfare Department on March 9, 2024. The core team, including the Executive Director, Finance Director, Operations Director and the Director Media, along with the Chairperson of the Board and other board members, discussed future endeavors. Since it was Women's Day, the occasion was celebrated with Pedo's core team, Social Welfare officials, and board members.
